They are generally very unfamiliar with legal procedures (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9vbNnJYv3rw&amp;t=121s\">2:01<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li><b>Discriminatory Treatment:<\/b> This community most often faces discriminatory treatment in administrative policymaking as well as other fields (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9vbNnJYv3rw&amp;t=381s\">6:21<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li><b>Difficult Access to Identity:<\/b> Due to the difficulty of obtaining official legal identity (which is guaranteed by the constitution), other fundamental rights such as healthcare, education, and a decent living are also neglected (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9vbNnJYv3rw&amp;t=393s\">6:33<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li><b>Psychological Distress:<\/b> When dealing with the law, street children tend to feel anxious, apprehensive, helpless, and worried due to their minimal understanding (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9vbNnJYv3rw&amp;t=474s\">7:54<\/a>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#x1f3eb;<b> Objectives of &#8220;Law School for Street Children&#8221;<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><b>Strengthening Understanding:<\/b> To strengthen street children&#8217;s understanding of human rights (HAM) and the legal issues they face daily (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9vbNnJYv3rw&amp;t=748s\">12:28<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li><b>Shield and Enlightenment:<\/b> To provide legal knowledge as an enlightenment and a protective shield for them when they are on the streets (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9vbNnJYv3rw&amp;t=165s\">2:45<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li><b>Building Student Sensitivity:<\/b> To provide practical lessons for law students to understand the actual issues of marginalized groups, thereby fostering their empathy and social sensitivity (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9vbNnJYv3rw&amp;t=768s\">12:48<\/a>).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&#x1f4d6;<b> Materials Taught<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Basic Material:<\/b> A foundational introduction to what law is, the symbols of justice, the enforcement of human rights, and the duties of law enforcement officials (such as Prosecutors and Judges) (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9vbNnJYv3rw&amp;t=193s\">3:13<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li><b>International Children&#8217;s Rights:<\/b> Education explaining that children&#8217;s rights (to life, growth, protection, and participation) are universally regulated worldwide through international conventions (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9vbNnJYv3rw&amp;t=659s\">10:59<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li><b>Practical Guidance:<\/b> Education regarding constitutional rights (e.g., age identity rights) and the right to be accompanied by stakeholders like Legal Aid Institutes (LBH), advocates, or child-focused NGOs when facing legal issues (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9vbNnJYv3rw&amp;t=435s\">7:15<\/a>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#x1f31f;<b> Main Hopes of the Program<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Street children can fully understand their rights (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9vbNnJYv3rw&amp;t=844s\">14:04<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>They know exactly what active measures to take within the legal framework when facing a problem (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9vbNnJYv3rw&amp;t=855s\">14:15<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>For the students, this teaching program serves as the best learning process through direct interaction in the field (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9vbNnJYv3rw&amp;t=874s\">14:34<\/a>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#x1f4cc; Program Background Educational Collaboration: This program is conducted across six halfway houses (rumah singgah) in Jakarta and its surrounding areas.
